Last week I really lucked out. I happened to be in Fort Worth, Texas, visiting my sister-in-law. As it turns out, the opening for a solo exhibit of Heather Pregger’s work was taking place while I was there.
Fort Worth has a vibrant cultural scene that includes the Fort Worth Community Arts Center. July 8 was the opening for a fascinating array of exhibits, and Heather is the current featured artist.
As you enter the center her quilts are front and center. Several quilts from her Tuning Fork series are featured along with some of her other quilts. I just love that in this gallery of a variety of media that Heather’s work is so prominently displayed.
Heather quilted these pieces in a simple yet effective manner. The nearly straight vertical lines add texture yet don’t overshadow the intricate piecing. Congratulations, Heather, on a beautiful exhibit!
